The erfa group exchanges knowledge and experience on structural simulation of mechanical systems and their multiphysical aspects. The group has no preferences regarding software, and it is the goal that the group’s work is based on concrete and well-defined tasks, as far as possible, supported by experimental results.
Examples of topics could be predictive of the life of a given component, 1D modeling of a mechanical system for system deployment, material models (eg non linear materials) or simulation of manufacturing processes (eg welding).
The group meets three times a year in turn at the group’s members. The meeting is divided into two parts; a common part with presentations and an individual part, working in smaller subgroups. External speakers are invited to meetings when relevant to obtaining knowledge in specific areas. It is the group’s goal to cooperate with universities and to have these represented at the meetings.
* It is free for group members to attend the meetings.
